STOLEN VEHICLE AND STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED
On the 30th April 2014, around 8:21am, Deputy Tony Wilson responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the woods adjacent to a park near Newcastle Drive, Cabot, AR. 72023. Cabot Police responded to the scene. The vehicle a 2012 Ford Fusion was found stuck in mud. A check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen on the 30th April 2014. The vehicle was stolen from Huckleberry Cove, Cabot, AR. A 17 year old male juvenile was found at the scene. The juvenile was found to be in the process of spray painting the car. Investigator Carla Lucas responded to assist. Further investigation revealed the vehicle contained two GPS, an I-Pad, a multi-gas reader, and a hand held scanner/computer. It was later learned the items found in the vehicle came from car break-ins which occurred the previous night. The car break-ins occurred in the area of Wildwood Drive, Blackberry Cove, and Huckleberry Cove, all in Cabot. The property will be returned to the owners. The vehicle was released to the owner. The estimated value of the property recovered is $3,000.00. The 17 year old juvenile was taken into custody and is being detained at a juvenile facility. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate to determine if anyone else was involved in the thefts.
